Battery Resident Takes Wharf Dispute Into Her Own Hands
One resident of the Battery is taking the dispute over an old wharf into her own hands. Mary Ann Wanyandi has lived in the Battery for six years. She says when she looks of the old structure off the shoreline she sees 500 years of heritage. Wanyandi tied herself to the platform last night.

A group of citizens from the Battery are protested Wednesday to save their beloved wharf. The wooden wharf is blocked by a sign "No Trespassing ," and a small blue-trimmed fishing boat is tied to the end of the wharf, a small piece of history.
